Health and Beauty: Caring for sensitive skin

Name one person who does not like beautiful skin. I bet there is none that you know. Everyone loves glowing and spotless skin. That is why people go to great lengths trying to get rid of stretch marks and/or looking for acne treatment when their skin breaks. We all have different skin types and there is also a wide range of skin care products and options. Sensitive skin needs special care and one should put special consideration before trying out some skin care tips no matter how tempting they may be.

Health and beauty go hand in hand. If you are unhealthy, you do not expect to have an attractive skin. Beauty comes from within and therefore, you should take care of what you eat. If your skin is sensitive, you should ensure you eat a lot of fruits and vegetables. Ensure you have a variety since every food has different food values and nutrients that they supply to the body. You also need to drink plenty of water. This will rid the body of oxidants and give the skin a natural glow.

We are all tempted to use most, if not all, make up tips and beauty tips. However, caution should not be thrown in the wind.  Experimenting with the skin is not a very good idea. As much as you may try new tips or ideas, stick to the skin care products you know. Changing skin care products may be detrimental to the skin. This includes soaps and creams. Interestingly, even cooking oil can affect the skin. Avoid harsh products. Instead, use products that contain vitamin E. Before changing products, remember Rebecca De Mornay once said, “I have this very strange sensitive skin. If I put anything on it but this one product, it erupts into a rash.”

You should avoid sharing clothes at all cost. The skin is likely to be break out when you share clothing items. This should not be overlooked even for hair care items. So remember next time when you are choosing a hair salon, go to one that upholds high hygienic standards. Ensure they sterilise shared items before use especially the towels. You should have your own nail care items such as polish removers, polish applicators. As much as these items do not have direct contact with the skin, they should not be shared. You may catch skin diseases such as scabies, lice, and creates a risk for the spread of MRSA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, a bacterium with antibiotic resistance).
