The second Coming of Christ the Unfulfilled Prophecies
Christ’s second coming to complete the great work of redemption, is one of the most solemn and yet most glorious truths revealed in the Bible. As much as God's pilgrim people are left to sojourn in the "region and shadow of death," they have this precious and joy-inspiring hope which is given in the promise of His appearing, who is "the resurrection and the life," to "bring home again his banished."
The true followers of Christ in all ages have hope in his second coming. Prophecy foretells the manner and object of Christ's second coming and presents tokens by which men are to know when it is near. Reading the book of Daniel and Revelation in the Holy Bible, one will learn about the unfulfilled prophecies. Even though Christians have different interpretations on some of the prophecies, they agree that they must be fulfilled before Christ’s second coming. There are many resources that one could use in order to understand the prophecies such as Bible Prophecy Study Guide Software, Bible prophecy chart, Church Bible study groups, and so forth.
The Bible prophecies are revealed in symbols and prophetic numbers. Therefore, to really understand the unfulfilled prophecies, one needs to fully study the Bible. One needs to read the Bible “line upon line” and “precept upon precept”. Reading the prophetic books only is not enough; one needs to read the entire Bible. Out of the unfulfilled prophecies, the widely known ones are:
The mark of the beast
The beast is found in the books of Daniel chapter 7 and Revelation chapter 13. The beast rises and blasphemes God and makes war with the saints. It receives a deadly wound and heals from it. Daniel 7:24 and Revelation 13: 3-4 reveals that the beast is a religious power that receives worship. It will cause all to receive a mark.
The Signs of times
During the last days, there will be signs of Christ’s second coming. This can be found in the Book of Luke 21:25-27, referencing from the King James Version; “25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; 26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. 27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.”
The Anti-Christ
While the Anti-Christ will be opposed to Christ, he will not openly admit it. He instead will deceive multitudes, Christians and non-Christians alike. He will act as if he is serving Christ and a substitute for Christ. The Bible further teaches that the Anti-Christ will rise out of a location amidst the nations of Western Europe. The ministries of the Anti-Christ are totally opposite those of Christ.
