What is Intralasik Eye Surgery

Intralasik eye surgery also commonly referred to as IntraLase Lasik or All-Laser LASIK is a full laser lasik eye surgery which provides an alternative to wearing glasses or contact lenses. It is a "No Blade" procedure as opposed to a mechanical microkeratome which uses a steel blade. A protective corneal flap is generated with femtosecond laser or femtolasik and an excimer laser by the means of dioptric expression of the disorder. As a result, it produces a flap that is much more precise in depth, cleaner terms of sterility, thinner and more accurate.

Since the IntraLase Femtosecond is computer-guided infrared therefore uses no blade, it is much more precise and for that reason more tissue remains untouched below the flap; it can cut the flap at a very close position to the top surface of the cornea. A tiny bubble is created by each laser pulse forming a pattern of many overlapping bubbles. Consequently, the flap gets lifted off the cornea. The rest of the procedure continues prey much as the traditional LASIK procedure.

One of the advantages Intralasik eye surgery presents to patients is that they can actually return to their normal life and work within 48 hours after this quick, painless and safe eye surgery. There are many clinics in the UK that one can go for this procedure. London has the most famous clinics in Laser Eye Surgery worldwide. However, a number of Intralasik eye surgery patients develop a complication which causes severe photophobia for a period of weeks known as Transient Light Sensitivity (TLS). This problem can be resolved after treating with topical steroid eye drops. These are normally used for a brief period of time after a successful LASIK surgery.

If you want to feel “normal” and do away with the cumbersome spectacles and/or contact lenses, then this is one option you could consider for eye surgery correction.  This is however an expensive affair; the LASIK with a microkeratome surgery is about $400 to $600 dollars cheaper than IntraLASIK eye surgery with the IntraLase machine. This is due to the fact that IntraLase femtosecond laser has an up-front cost of roughly $375,000 in addition to a fee of approximately $160 per eye for the disposables.

All said and done, you should be your own judge. Look at the options available to you then draw your own conclusions.  If you need more information before you make a decision, consult an ophthalmologist or visit http://eyesurgerychoices.com/eye-surgeon-search/intralasik/.
